What is letterpress printing?
Letterpress is a form of relief printing, in which a raised surface (metal or wood type, or any type-high relief plate) is inked and pressed into the paper. From the 16th to the early 20th century, this was how books were printed. Think Gutenberg (although moveable type was actually invented in China centuries earlier). Now considered more of a craft than a trade, it's often used to create art prints and stationery. Our press is a Vandercook No. 4, serial number #8443. |
Who are you?
Nine-Grain Design is usually only Liz Craig Myers, but sometimes with a little help from her friends. After learning the trade in publishing and agency environments, Liz founded Nine-Grain Design in 1998 and has been crafting quality work for clients large and small since then. She's not young or trendy. But if you need an experienced designer who will work with you toward an appropriate solution, let's get in touch! |
What's with the bread?
Just something I started when first working on my own and found that the best swag for clients is edible. Available in nine-grain or sourdough. If you're gluten-free, tough luck. Kidding! Let me know and I'll find an alternative. |
What do you design?
Logos, brochures, business or personal stationery, invitations, book layout, signage, graphics for web or social media, and more. Tell me what you need, and I'll let you know whether or not I've got the right tool for the job. |
Nine-Grain Design is a graphic design and letterpress printing studio located in Park City, Utah. Our bread is good, too.
